As the General Manager of Jesus May Ball 2026, you are the senior-most on-site operations lead. You will coordinate the real-time response to issues, manage escalations, and ensure the Ball runs smoothly across all zones. You report to members of the May Ball Committee and are expected to work closely with the Control Room Team, Area Supervisors, and other team leads throughout the night. You are mobile, carry a radio, and are the central point for escalation and high-level oversight.

COMPENSATION

£247.45 for 13.5 total hours at an hourly rate of £18.33. This includes 12 hours of paid work during a 13-hour shift (1 hour is an unpaid break) and 1.5 hours of paid training.

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

BAR MANAGER (£251.18)

As Bar Manager, you will oversee the smooth running of all Committee-run bars during the Jesus May Ball. From setup to cleanup, you will manage stock, coordinate staff, and ensure high standards of service, cleanliness, and compliance with licensing laws and health and safety regulations. A key focus of this role is ensuring efficient and fast service to guests, keeping operations running smoothly even during peak times. This role requires strong leadership, quick problem-solving, and the ability to maintain efficient operations in a fast-paced environment.

COMPENSATION

£251.18 for 12 hours and 45 min at an hourly rate of £19.70. This includes 10 hours and 45 min of paid work during a 11 hour 45 min shift (1 hour is an unpaid break) and 2 hours of paid training.

Acting as the central hub of communication, you’ll coordinate resolutions, monitor progress, and lead the other control room workers. Your role is crucial in keeping the event running efficiently and maintaining an accurate incident log for future improvement. As the Breakroom Supervisor for Jesus May Ball 206, you are responsible for maintaining an efficient, tidy, and welcoming staff breakroom throughout the night. You play a key role in staff wellbeing and timekeeping across all departments. You report to members of the May Ball Committee and liaise closely with the General Manager and all Department Managers/Supervisors.

COMPENSATION

£170.50 for 12 total hours at an hourly rate of £15.86. This includes 10 3/4 hours of paid work during a 10 1/4-hour shift (1 hour is an unpaid break) and 1.5 hour of paid training.

ACCESS MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR(S) (£169.63)

The Access Management Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing and coordinating all entry and exit procedures for staff and performers during events. This position ensures that access control systems are maintained accurately and efficiently, while also providing an organised and welcoming first point of contact for event personnel. The role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to remain professional and proactive throughout the event. This position will be fulfilled by two workers, each of whom will work 6-hour shifts, with a handover halfway through the night.

COMPENSATION

£169.63 for 11.5 total hours at an hourly rate of £14.75. This includes 11.5 hours of total paid work including a 10 hour paid shift (one hour unpaid break) and 1.5 hours of paid training.

As an Entertainment Runner at the Jesus May Ball, you will ensure performers are escorted promptly and efficiently to and from their designated stages, supporting the smooth and timely running of all acts. You’ll verify that performers are prepared before their set, assist with equipment checks, and address any last-minute needs. After performances, you’ll facilitate their departure from the site. With a focus on timeliness, organisation, and clear communication, you’ll work closely with the Entertainment Manager to maintain a seamless entertainment schedule.

£123.48 for 9 total hours at an hourly rate of £13.72.  This includes 8 hours of paid work during a 9-hour shift (1 hour is an unpaid break) and 1 hour of paid training.

As the Fire Steward stationed in the Brewery Room, your responsibility is to ensure that all safety protocols are observed throughout the night. This is a critical role in maintaining a secure and enjoyable environment for our guests — your vigilance helps ensure everyone has a safe and uninterrupted experience. You serve as the first line of prevention, spotting potential issues before they escalate. Your calm presence and attention to detail contribute significantly to the professional execution of the event. You report to the Area Supervisors and liaise with the General Manager when necessary.

By managing staff effectively, briefing them on tasks, and stepping in during peak periods, you will ensure all areas are well-maintained and running smoothly. As an Event Presentation Worker at the Jesus May Ball, you will ensure the event remains clean, organised, and inviting for all guests. Your responsibilities include clearing litter, keeping tables tidy, and ensuring bins are available and waste-free throughout the night. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a welcoming environment.

COMPENSATION

£140.36 for 11 total hours at an hourly rate of £12.76. This includes 9 hours of paid work during a 10-hour shift (1 hour is an unpaid break) and 1 hour of paid training.

HOURS REQUIRED

The role includes an 11-hour shift starting at either 18:00 or 20:00 on 22nd June 2026 and finishing at 05:00 or 07:00 on 23rd June 2026, along with a training session at a time scheduled between 11:00 and 16:00 on 22nd June 2026. As shift times will be allocated, please only apply if you are available for both options.

SITE SUPERVISOR (£560.50)

As Site Supervisor for the Jesus May Ball, you will oversee the smooth setup, operation, and cleanup of the event venue. Leading and coordinating a team, you’ll ensure all infrastructure — such as furniture, fencing, and equipment — is arranged according to plans and the site is fully prepared, clean, and organised before guests arrive. After the event, you’ll manage the dismantling and storage of all items, ensuring the venue is restored to its original condition promptly and to a high standard.  In some instances, you may work without direct oversight from the Committee, requiring you to be independent, confident in decision-making, and capable of applying what you’ve learned during the training shifts. This role demands strong leadership, organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively to deliver a seamless and professional event experience.

COMPENSATION

£560.50 for four shifts of 4 hours each, one 11-hour shift, and one 13-hour shift. The latter two shifts include a 1-hour unpaid break. This role also provides meals during the longer shifts and access to the May Ball as a guest until 10 pm. Whilst we’d love to let you stay longer as a thank you for your hard work, it’s essential you’re rested and ready for your morning shift starting at 7 am.

CLEANUP WORKER (£95.70)

As a Cleanup Worker at the Jesus May Ball, you will help restore the event venue to its original condition by packing away furniture, fencing, and other simple infrastructure, collecting litter, and organising equipment in designated storage areas. You’ll ensure the site is left clear, presentable, and ready for normal use, promptly reporting any unresolved issues or missing items to the Site Manager. This role is ideal for reliable, organised individuals who take pride in completing tasks efficiently and to a high standard.

COMPENSATION

£95.70 for 7.5 total hours at an hourly rate of £12.76. This includes 7.5 hours of paid work during an 8-hour shift (0.5 hours is an unpaid break).

HOURS REQUIRED

The role includes an 8-hour shift starting at either 07:00 or 15:00 and finishing at 15:00 or 23:00 on 23rd June 2026. A small number of additional shifts are available between 09:00 and 13:00 on 24th June 2026.
